I have worked with many of teachers and have shown them how to use Brain Gym ® in the classroom. In a typical classroom environment, the children come in and it can take half an hour or more to get everyone settled down and ready to learn. That's a lot of time if you think about it over the course of a week – that's 2 and a half hours of wasted time in the mornings, and perhaps another 2 and a half hours of wasted time in the afternoon when the children return to class after lunch!
Teachers who use Brain Gym ® in the classroom spend five to ten minutes doing a few simple exercises. Primarily, the teachers work with the four step process we call PACE. Within even such a short time period, everyone is more settled, more relaxed, and more willing and able to learn. They have increased concentration which helps information absorb quicker and they will actually learn at a faster speed.
Brain Gym ® exercises help improve a child's self esteem, which is important for everything that a child may attempt. If he or she feels they can do it – they're going to have much higher levels of success than a child who constantly feels doubtful of their abilities.
I've been one of the pioneers of Brain Gym ® in Australia, and have been involved for 25 years. Many teachers in Australia are aware of, and use Brain Gym ® methods, and it's becoming more popular around the world, as well.
Brain Gym ® is being used in over 80 countries around the world now, and the results people report are just incredible. Students are getting higher grades and improving their lifestyle. Children have higher self esteem; perform better in sports and other activities, as well. And while it was originally intended to help students with learning difficulties, parents and adults also benefit from the Brain Gym ® exercises.
In adults, Brain Gym ® can be used to reduce stress levels, and enable them to learn faster with more concentration as well. It is not just teachers who can use Brain Gym ® in the classroom but also employers and individuals.
